When In Doubt, Inspiar.
We all experience someone leaving our life. Maybe as simple as the first day away from a new child, the first sleep over, the first day of school, or a young adult child leaving for college, a break up, a death. I am there at this moment, a child leaving for college. Time was cut short already between us from a divorce, so I have thought about this moment for a while, wishing time could stand still, or at least slow down. But reality is upon me, I feel myself searching for the correct words to say, something that will allow her to understand the depth of my feelings. I know it is her time to discover, see the world through her adult eyes now, experiences real word issues with more responsibility. So I shall take a deep breath, probably many times over to catch my breath, pause, and calm the anxiety nerves. Remembering good times, seeing her smile, thinking about what may be currently going on in her life. Trying to be inspirational, to her and to myself, knowing she is going out into this world with the biggest cheerleader, fan, supporter. Coming back to the breath centers me, I hope it does the same for her today, tomorrow and every day after. Love you Dad.
